Founder and Brand Director of Deliciously Ella, the plant-based food and wellness brand, Ella Mills, is confirmed as the latest headline speaker at Retail Technology Show, the new flagship event for retail that brings together Europe’s most forward-thinking retailers and leading tech innovators. Mills joins trailblazing entrepreneurs and retail leaders who will be headlining at the expo, including Dragon’s Den investor Steven Bartlett, New Look chairman and ex-Sainsbury’s CEO, Mike Coupe, and Jeremy Schwartz, the former-CEO of The Body Shop and Pandora,.
From what started out as a personal wellness journey on her plant-based food blog, Deliciouslyella.com, Mills has catapulted the Deliciously Ella brand to global fame. Alongside her leading social platform and food and wellbeing app, she has launched six #1 cookery books and boasts a growing product range of seven lines, which is now sold in 7,000 stores across the UK, including Waitrose, Starbucks, Tesco, Holland and Barrat and Wholefoods.
Mills will join Chris Field, Managing Editor of Retail Connections, on the Headline Stage for her keynote session on Day 2 (27 April) of the show, for a fireside chat, which examines how brands and retailers can maximise customer engagement by building a fan-based, authentic brand.
Genuineness and the spirit of community in retail is a growing demand set for UK shoppers, especially among younger demographics; original research of 2,000 UK consumers in Retail Technology Show’s report showed 37% would be more likely to buy from online retailers that supported good causes or sustainability outside of just selling products, rising to 40% of Millennials. Meanwhile research of 1,000 UK shoppers by Sensormatic Solutions showed that combining shopping with community social and leisure activities was one of the main focuses for visiting stores (41%). Mills’ keynote session will explore current customer expectations and how these are evolving, as well as identifying key areas where brands can deploy authentic, community-led engagement strategies and highlighting the key shopper trends to help retailers stay ahead of the expectations curve.
Mills’ appearance follows Day 1 keynote, Steven Bartlett, who’s headline session takes a deep dive into the opportunities the Metaverse presents to retailers, and Ex-Sainsbury’s CEO, Mike Coupe, who will explore the new leadership strategies that retailers need to embrace to drive market share in 2022 and beyond.
