From today (19th February 2019) a wealth of ground-breaking technology is being at showcased EuroCIS in Düsseldorf, Germany – the giant trade show where ‘technology never sleeps’.
The leading lights of retail will be discussing one of the biggest business questions of our age – what does the future of retail look like? Delegates from around the world will be in good hands at EuroCIS, a trade fair that has been showcasing retail innovation and sharing international insights for decades. The event recognises that omnichannel retail – namely addressing shoppers via different but fully integrated channels – has become indispensable.
Fieldworks’ client Cegid is at the show, talking about pushing the boundaries of unified commerce. Their passion is making the vision of omnichannel retail become everyday reality. At Booth F40 in Hall 9 Cegid will be showcasing its very latest product innovations. Having successfully launched its Shopping, Cataloguing and Clienteling modules – part of our unified commerce platform – the French retail technology speacilist will unveil a brand new Inventory Tracking solution at the year’s trade fair.
Stock accuracy and stores as DCs
Inventory Tracking is an easy-to-implement mobile application, which helps integrate a retailer’s back-store to give real-time visibility of inventory to improve stock accuracy and reduce out of stocks. This allows store associates to optimise the movement of stock, meaning the store can operate like a true mini-DC, with staff immediately notified to pick and pack online reservations or click-and-collect orders. With technology like this in place, retailers can meet the needs of shoppers, removing friction and uncertainty from their buying journeys.
Nathalie Echinard, Director of Retail Markets at Cegid, says that in today’s competitive retail environment, retailers are under no illusion that each conversion has never been as contested – and the key to driving conversions, no matter which channel they take place in, relies on enhancing customer experience at every touchpoint.
“This is why integrated solutions are so urgently needed to deliver a holistic view of shoppers, products and stock across the entire retail demand and supply chain,” says Echinard. “This empowers retailers to deliver seamless shopping encounters, creating personalised and memorable experiences that increase conversions and grow customer lifetime value.”
