Leading retailers & brands announced to speak at AxoniCom LIVE

Axonify, the modern training and communication solution for frontline associates, has announced the latest speaker line-up for its annual conference, AxoniCom LIVE, which sees current and former executives from Foot Locker, Disney, Accor Hotels and Walmart discuss the future of the retail workforce.

The two-day digital event, which is dedicated to empowering the frontline, will provide retailers and brands with the insights and strategies needed to build and retain a resilient, agile and engaged workforce.  Recognising the disruption and rapidly changing nature of the current trading environment, which has been accelerated by covid-19, the event brings together frontline-forward organisations committed to supporting and empowering their retail staff.

Toronto Raptors’ Head Coach, Nick Nurse, who was recently named NBA Coach of the Year 2019-20, will also be interviewed by AxoniCom LIVE MC Shawn Kanungo, where he’ll discuss how to deliver game-changing results by empowering frontline teams.  Ginger Hardage, former SVP of Culture and Communications at Southwest Airlines, also joins the keynote line-up.  Closing the first day Michael C. Bush, CEO of Great Place to Work™ and former member of President Obama’s White House Business Council, shares his thoughts and insider takes on driving the frontline forwards.

Joining the keynotes are other brands and retailers also speaking, including VP of Customer Experience at Foot Locker, Tony Aversa; former Disney VP, Dan Cockerell; Rob Siefker, Senior Director of Customer Service at online shoe retailer Zappos; Edwin Frizzell, Regional VP at Accor Hotels; and Francis LaLonde, VP at Walmart Canada; Lou Tedrick, VP Learning and Development, Verizon.

In addition to hearing from industry leaders and frontline experts, AxoniCom LIVE’s ‘Leisure Lounge’ also offers attendees the chance to unplug and connect over digital experiences including yoga classes, cooking demos and illusionist performances and will also feature a special edition of Axonify’s 80% Podcast.

Guests at AxoniCom LIVE will also receive access to exclusive insights from Axonify’s latest report, which includes a comprehensive global study into the frontline and how it has been impacted by the pandemic.  Original research, commissioned for Axonify by Arlington, explores how retailers responded and communicated to their staff during the covid-19 crisis, how employees felt about this and what kind of processes and training will be needed during retail’s recovery.  This provides valuable insight into how the needs of the retail workforce have evolved and how retail businesses can adapt to ensure their cultures continue to empower their most valuable asset – their frontline staff.

“All the challenges 2020 has thrown at us – not least the global pandemic – has served to reaffirm the crucial role of retail staff.  It has underlined and reminded us of the importance of a resilient, agile and engaged workforce in continuing to drive business performance, whatever the circumstance.”

“We put AxoniCom LIVE together with the express purpose of helping retailers and brands develop smarter strategies that help them build a frontline workforce that’s ready for anything.  And through the highly respected industry leaders and frontline forward thinkers making up the speaker programme, we are confident this year’s event will deliver just that.”

Carol Leaman, CEO and Co-Founder of Axonify
