In our latest 30 second interview, we speak to Kieran Donovan, Project Controller – GSC Logistics at Arcadia.
Q: Explain to us the ins and outs of your role at Arcadia
A: I am responsible for global freight operations covering 60+ countries and further developing the Arcadia global supply chain as part of our £50+million Project Horizon investment. At the moment we are establishing a DC in Singapore, which will be a major step in delivering the future supply chain to support our international and digital growth.
Q: You’ve been at Arcadia for a year now – in that time, how has the business evolved, and how have these changes impacted your role?
A: It’s constant change. The business is very dynamic and fast moving so there are ongoing challenges – new ranges, brands, countries – needing quick solutions to ensure we deliver for our customers.
Q: What are the major pain points that yourselves and other retailers face when it comes to expanding/managing a global supply chain?
A: Compliance is a continuing challenge. While trade becomes ever more global, governments and customs agencies are becoming ever more stringent in their requirements. Customers are more demanding too – they expect the product they want available through whichever channel they choose.
Q: What are your top 3 business priorities for the next 12 months?
A: To deliver Singapore our DC, grow our US DC and to continue driving cost out of the operation while improving service
